Statement

Since early childhood, I was fascinated by artistic endeavors of all kinds. Today, I watch my granddaughter courageously paint, draw and play with creativity. I always have been, and am to this day, surprised by the possibilities of the interaction between color and form.  I come to my studio every morning with eager anticipation of what might have painted itself overnight: what I have sketched the night before never looks the same the next day.  Initial ideas seem to march to the beat of their own drum: it is enough for a ray of light to “accidentally” hit the canvas or a piece of paper to “intentionally” cover a corner of the artwork to alter entirely the original concept.
Do not get me wrong: the process of creation is hard work, but it still is, above all, endless play and joy.
